Softball The Santana Sultans defeated the Brawley Wildcats 11-1 in the CIF San Diego Section Division III softball championship game broadcast live on KBCsports.com. / The Sultans showed their offensive power as the bats turned loose in the very first inning, putting Santana up 5-0 early in the game. The Wildcats answered back in the third inning when the freshmen Megan Salcido hit a double that scored the Wildcat's one and only run of the game. Senior pitcher Britty Balough was dominant in the circle as she allowed one run on one hit and struck out five to give her team the victory. 05.24.08 -  Amye McIntyre - CA

Softball The Francis Parker Lancers notched their third straight Division IV CIF San Diego Section softball championship with a 4-1 victory over the Horizon Panthers Saturday morning in a game heard live on KBCsports.com. The clouds parted and the rain held long enough for the fans to be treated to a great pitching match-up. The Lancers sent KBCsports.com Player of the Game Amye McIntyre to the pitching circle, while the Panthers countered with the Coastal League Player of the Year Cassidy Coleman. McIntyre struck out the side in both the 2nd and 3rd innings, en route to a nine strike-out, two-hit performance. She was matched almost the entire game by Coleman, who struck out nine batters herself. Coleman gave up seven hits, walked five and hit two batters. Both teams went through the first three innings scoreless, until the Lancers took advantage of shaky pitching and defense in the 4th inning from the Panthers. After the first two Lancers walked, Hannah Rapoport doubled in Kate Kidd for the first run of the day. Parker continued the attack when Austin Sanders singled in Julia Polsese. Lauren Tomey finished the rally with a two-run single. The Panthers loaded the bases in the bottom of the 4th, but could not get any runs across the plate. Horizon got its one run on a solo homerun from Cassidy Coleman in the bottom of the 6th.
