Six San Diego Wildcats scored in double figures en route to a 117-101 rout of the San Francisco Rumble in a game that was broadcast live on KBCsports.com. This happened despite Cardel Butler and Jamal Kendrick, who usually lead the offensive charge, combining for a mere 20 points.
The Wildcats, somehow, even managed to beat their points per game average of 115. Who would’ve thought? All of this without their big guns.
But enough about those guys. Tonight they played complimentary roles and enjoyed it.
Tonight was about the rest of the team stepping up. It was about KBCsports.com Player of the Game John Clark’s 24 points and six rebounds. It was about Jerome Habel’s blocks. It was about the team combining for 12 three-pointers, including Brian Graham, Greg Clark, Leonard Moseley and newcomer Wayne Oliver.
The game was definitely not about the Rumble. Devaughn Lamont scored 25 points, but besides that, nothing went right for San Francisco. They trailed by as many as 22 points, their assistant coach got ejected for arguing calls, and they turned the ball over 21 times.
The Wildcats improved to 22-7 with the win. KBCsports.com will have live audio and video coverage of the Wildcats regular season finale Sunday, at 4 p.m. |
